So I need to get the panels painted on the Helix. Got them all off and am in the process of prepping them so that I can take them somewhere and just have them sprayed. Thinking Maaco, but seems that not all are created equal. Anyone have a recommendation on a paint shop, budgeting ~$100 to $150 give or take.

I have done a lot of painting using Krylon spray cans. You can sometime catch them on sale at Hobby Lobby. Years ago I repainted a Hodaka 125 frame with Krylon and it looked great. You have to spray several light coats and wait a day between; then a heavier coat and wait 30 minutes and then spray a wet coat, but not too wet that it runs. Let it dry for a week and it will last a long time. The problem is matching the color. Krylon should be sprayed in a vented area and you should not breath the fumes much. I usually spray outdoors when it it warm/hot and no/very little wind. (Spray with the wind to your back! LOL)
Duplicolor might have a matching color but it is a laquer and must be sprayed in a WELL vented area and you have to wear a mask when spraying. It can cause some health problems if inhaled.
Good luck. Post a photo when you have finished, please.
I get older, but I am never growing up. Since I own a Burgman and I am a Ham, that makes me -- a Ham-Burger!

Don't hire this guy, he always needs more paint than you think.
Len's price is not too surprising, but the dude does top notch paint work and for a show quality finish $650 might be considered a good deal.
I agree with Karl, though...you can do a creditable job on your own if you prep well and take your time. I've had very good luck with Duplicolor. You will spend some time but end up with better quality than Maaco.
